It’s All About the Birds – Wednesday, 11 April 2012 – come along to this fun activity and make an edible treat for the birds to hang in your garden.  You will also be making your own nest full of baby “fluffy” birds and chocolate eggs.

Scraggy the Scarecrow – Thursday, 12 April 2012 – make your own mini “Scraggy” scarecrow using lots of different materials.  You will also be making a “Scarecrow” candy jar and decorating mini scarecrow goodies to eat.

Hanging Basket – Friday, 13 April 2012 – Join in this very popular fun session – get your hands dirty – you will be planting up a full size hanging basket – watch the plants grow into a cascade of flowers throughout Spring & Summer as well as creating paper ladybirds, butterflies and flowers.

Making it! discovery centre is proud to announce that they are now a “public learning destination” affiliated to the Children’s University. 

The Children’s University is a national organisation that provides 7 to 14 year olds with exciting and innovative learning activities and experiences outside normal school hours.  They celebrate achievement and reward participation through certificates.

Raising children’s aspirations is important to us and we aim to help the Children’s University to develop the understanding that learning can be the satellite navigation to better places in life!

How does the brain process informaton?

A group of 81 children from Swinton Queen Primary School in Mexborough came to Making it! discovery centre on Tuesday, 24 January 2012.  The children, all aged 7-9yrs,  enjoyed making clocks, boats, speed machines and torches as part of their design & technology education.  Here are some pictures taken on the day:-
